Eligibility & Rules

  • Must be a full-time employee or the son or daughter of any owner, partner, officer or full-time employee of a WVWA Class A Wholesale Member in good standing.

  • Must be a high school senior accepted for admission in the fall of 2024 or presently enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis.

  • Scholarship is intended to be used for tuition, books and supplies only.

  • Applications must be received by July 15th of each calendar year.

Awards

One $2,000 and two $1000 scholarships will be awarded for one full year of study. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • High school or college grades

  • ACT/SAT scores and class rank

  • Extra-curricular academic and non-academic activities including church, community and employment

  • Original essay on either career objective or a meaningful experience (no longer than three typewritten pages). Much emphasis will be placed on this portion for the Jan Vineyard & John Hodges Memorial $2,000 Scholarship.

Selection

The West Virginia Wholesalers Association Scholarship Committee will select winners.

Payment of Scholarship

Scholarship Checks will be mailed to each recipient’s home address.

High School Senior

  • Completed scholarship application
  • High school transcript
  • SAT or ACT scores
  • Class rank
  • Original essay on either a career objective or a meaningful experience (three typewritten pages maximum). Much emphasis will be placed on this portion for the Jan Vineyard & John Hodges Memorial $2,000 Scholarship.

Current College Student

  • Completed scholarship application
  • College transcript from each college attended
  • Original essay on either a career objective or a meaningful experience (three typewritten pages
    maximum). Much emphasis will be placed on this portion for the Jan Vineyard & John Hodges Memorial $2,000 Scholarship.
